Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) - Travel Assignment

Amergis Staffing is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week travel assignment with a leading hospital system in New Hampshire. This opportunity offers a full-time evening schedule working Monday through Friday and is ideal for technicians with recent trauma center experience who thrive in fast-paced acute care environments.

Position Overview

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role plays a critical part in supporting procedural and surgical departments by ensuring equipment is properly processed and available for patient care.

Shift: Evenings (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)

  • National Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST, CBSPD, or equivalent)
  • BLS Certification

  • Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience
  • Recent Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience within the last 2 years
  • Minimum 1 year of travel experience preferred
  • Experience with instrument decontamination, assembly, and sterilization processes
  • Experience operating steam and low-temperature sterilization systems

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for decontamination, assembly of linen packs, operation of steam, ETO and other forms of sterilization. The Sterile Processing Technician maintains adequate inventory for assembly of instruments and equipment and performs multiple tasks that assist in the daily operation of all units as well as being responsible for customer service.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent?
  • Certification as required by state regulations or contract specifications?
  • Certification for sterile processing technicians by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) may be required 
  • One (1) year of experience in sterile processing preferred?
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
