What are some common challenges a Steinmetz faces when working on restoration projects?

Restoration projects often require a Steinmetz to work with historical stonework, which involves carefully matching materials, colors, and techniques to preserve the integrity of the original structure. One challenge is sourcing appropriate stone that aligns with the existing work, as well as adapting to unique masonry styles from different time periods. Additionally, Steinmetze must balance modern safety standards with traditional craftsmanship, collaborating closely with architects, historians, and conservation specialists throughout the project.
