The incumbent ensures that production goals are met, customer demands are satisfied, and all manufacturing associates work safely within a self-directed team environment.This Area Manager is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the business plans by achieving or exceeding KPI’s by providing leadership, employee development and ensuring continuous improvement strategies are implemented maintaining the profitability and competitiveness of the organization. Developing self-directed working teams, facilitating team meetings, activities, resources, conflicts and overall team development is also required. Acting as a coach to remove obstacles to increase team performance and resolve team disputes may be necessary.**Primary Duties & Responsibilities*** Monitor training status and identify needs of personnel in department* Develop and maintain effective and productive relationships with all customers; internal, external* Manage and facilitate continuous improvement projects* Lead efforts to troubleshoot quality and productivity problems within the business* Develop and administer budget while improving conversion cost and reducing variances* Mentor staff to optimize performance and drive results* Work with production teams, Schedulers, Quality System, Facilitators, logistics and plant maintenance to ensure that production goals are met or exceeded* Manage inventory and coordinate with line Schedulers* Manage maintenance and reliability tasks to ensure continuity of operations* Manage capital appropriations for current and future for respective departments* Using Felt Leadership, implement and ensure high performance of safety metrics**Tools Required*** Manufacturing Schedules* Safety Metrics* SAP* Microsoft Office Products* Workday* Budgets: Capital and Operating* Production Plan* Maintenance Schedules**Education & Experience Qualifications****Minimum:*** Bachelor’s degree in Business or Manufacturing Engineering or related field or 10+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree* 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment* 5 years of experience in a supervisory or people management role**Preferred:*** 10 years of experience in manufacturing environment* 5 years of Steelscape Product experience**Skills & Competencies*** Results oriented attitude with a proven track record of ensuring key deadlines are met* Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills* Excellent organizational skills with the proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment* Working knowledge of inventory systems used to track production, inventory and shipping required* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members to achieve planned results**Salary Range**: The expected pay scale for this role is $121,000.00 - 155,000.00 annually, depending on experience, skill set, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a targeted annual bonus of xx, health and welfare benefits and 401(k) match in accordance with BlueScope policies.**Arbitration Notice**Steelscape LLC (and its related BlueScope companies) requires all new hires to sign a Mutual Arbitration Agreement as a condition of employment.
