Job description

Job Title: Construction Project Manager — Restaurant Development
Location: Houston, TX

Overview:

I'm working on a search for a growing, veteran-owned commercial GC that builds nationally recognized restaurant brands — plus fuel/convenience, medical, hospitality, and civil/design-build work. This is a company on a real growth trajectory, not just backfilling a seat. They build for national restaurant brands including Taco Bell, LongHorn Steakhouse, Cheddar's, Bojangles, Panda Express, IHOP, Chilli's, and Yard House, alongside fuel/convenience, medical, hospitality, and civil/design-build work.

What you will be doing:

  • Owning restaurant development projects from pre-development and design through construction and turnover to operations
  • Coordinating architects, civil engineers, and consultants on construction plans, site due diligence, and permitting
  • Preparing bid packages, analyzing bids, and supporting contractor selection and contract negotiation
  • Serving as owner's representative during construction — regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and plan adherence
  • Reviewing contractor invoices, pay applications, lien waivers, and tracking project costs
  • Managing change orders and budget updates
  • Running punch list inspections and closeout documentation through final turnover

What you must have:

  • 3+ years construction project management or assistant project management experience
  • Commercial, retail, or restaurant construction background required
  • Working understanding of construction drawings, contracts, and permitting
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed

Preferred:

  • QSR or retail development experience
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Experience working directly with general contractors and subcontractors
  • Experience with multi-unit restaurant/hospitality organizations such as Darden Restaurants or Dave & Buster's

Other Information:

Why this role:

  • Competitive salary + annual bonus opportunity
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Real advancement path within a rapidly growing, veteran-owned GC
  • Exposure to multi-brand restaurant development across a national portfolio

Salary/Rate Range: $90,000 to $130,000
