Job description

This is an internal promotional position for current NC State Student Centers student employees.
Job Title: Operations Manager
Tier: 3
Location: Talley Student Union and Witherspoon Student Center
Supervision: Reports to the Assistant Director of Operations & Student Development
Work Schedule: Shift-based; 8-20 hours per week between 7am and 1am; includes nights and weekends; special hours apply occasionally.
Compensation: Minimum starting wage $13.00/hr with opportunity for raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises. In addition, Student Centers employees are eligible for an end-of-semester bonus up to $200.
Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage a team of Operations Assistants during meeting room setups ensuring all setup and safety guidelines are followed
  • Lead a team of two to six Operations Assistants in Training during setups for large events in Talley Student Union
  • Provide timely feedback on performance of Operations Assistants and Operations Assistants in Training
  • Set up and test AV equipment in meeting rooms including laptops and projectors
  • Greet and assist clients with any changes required to the event setup
  • Review rooms and equipment for any maintenance issues and report as needed
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and appearance of Talley Student Union and Witherspoon Student Center
  • Provide a superior level of customer service
  • Proactively interact with students and guests to answer questions about NC State University and NC State Student Centers
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
  • Attend and actively participate in mandatory staff meetings
  • Remain in compliance with NC State Student Centers student employee policies and expectations at all times
