Job description

Position Title: Seasonal HR Clerk
Reports to: Employee Services Manager
Department: People Operations
Classification: Seasonal, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Pay: $19.75 - $20.50 an hour

If you take pride in the quality of your work and prefer working on a team of talented individuals who share your passion for excellence, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity! This is a seasonal position located on-site at our Modesto Cannery and Employee Services Department.
As a Seasonal Human Resources Clerk at Stanislaus Food Products, you will provide valuable support in carrying out day-to-day HR activities for up to 2,000 team members during our Harvest season, which runs from July through October. You will assist the department with a range of responsibilities, including scheduling, file maintenance, scanning, document organization, customer service, and more. The Human Resources Clerk will be expected to work at least 6 days a week during our Fresh-Pack Season from mid-July to late September. Our Cannery runs 24/7 so flexibility to work any shift (Days, Swing or Graveyard) is required.
This position will be primarily responsible for:
  • Assisting with employee file maintenance, including scanning, filing, and document organization.
  • Assisting employees with self-service functions of Human Resource Information System database.
  • Maintaining a high level of entry accuracy entering employee personnel data.
  • Assisting Scheduler with calling employees in for work.
  • Providing superior internal and external customer service in person or over the phone.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and guidelines.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic math and grammar skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working on Computer Systems.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Availability to work any shift and overtime as needed.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, or in English and Punjabi.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with HRIS (UKG or Indeavor).

Physical Requirements:
  • Some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; rare stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 50% or more sitting, 25% or less walking, and 50% or more standing. The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in an office environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift up to 35 lbs. is required.
