Job Summary

Are you a dynamic food service leader with a passion for operational excellence and building strong client relationships? Join Chartwells K12 as the Assistant Director Dining Operations at a premier school district in CLOVER, SC.  Reporting to the Director and working alongside our culinary team, this highly visible leadership role is instrumental in supporting daily operations, enhancing the dining experience, and ensuring exceptional service delivery throughout the district.

The Assistant Director serves as a key partner to district stakeholders and plays a significant role in client relations, building trusted relationships with school administrators and district leadership. The successful candidate will help oversee day-to-day food service operations, support team development and engagement, drive operational initiatives, and ensure financial, safety, and service goals are achieved. We are seeking a collaborative leader with outstanding communication skills, strong people management experience, and a customer-focused mindset to deliver an exceptional dining program for students, clients, and the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the management team in creating nutritious and top quality food. 
  • Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams. 
  • Maintains excellent relationships with the client. 
  • Manages, trains, and develops associates. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of food service management experience.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills. 
  • Financial experience and business acumen skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • Associate’s degree is preferred.
