Mulit-Craft Maintenance Technician opportunity with a family-owned regional company who has been rapidly growing since 1934. Candidate must have the ability and willingness to communicate with all levels of management, desire to learn and grow professionally, and execute well-defined preventative maintenance programs under the direction of a maintenance supervisor. The trainee will receive "on the job" training, including but not limited to:

  • Learn how to repair, maintain, and preform preventative maintenance
  • General Electrical knowledge
  • Air compressors
  • Welding and Piping
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • General equipment and building maintenance
  • Install and troubleshoot industrial equipment
  • Perform indoor and outdoor housekeeping
  • Learn about boiler and wastewater systems
  • Learn about safety policies and procedures

General Experience with air cylinders, solenoid valves, steam traps, motor starters, gear reducers, inverter drives, and other industrial equipment is a plus but not a requirement for this opportunity.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limited to:

  • Maintain safety and cleanliness standards
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance program
  • Work with other associates in a team to accomplish defined goals
  • Uses common tools to perform plant cleaning operations, including but not limited to: floor scrubbers, lint and dust removal devices, outside rubbish removal, equipment cleaning, and pit/trench screen cleaning
  • Performs miscellaneous painting tasks within the plant or outside painting on the facilities and grounds
  • Operates powered industrial forklifts/lifts throughout the facilities to assist in relocating materials
  • May perform various levels of facilities upkeep including landscaping, snow removal, and other refuse removal
  • After appropriate training; performs light equipment maintenance tasks such as filter cleaning and replacement, trench screen cleaning, lint and dust blowdown of facilities an equipment, fluid level checks, light bulb replacement, ceiling tile replacement, cart cleaning and repair, and pressure washing
  • Assist in other areas and/or departments as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English
  • High school diploma/GED
  • General Knowledge and skills which represent a good mechanical background
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to stand for up to 7 hours of an 8-hour shift
  • Any combination of general maintenance, building maintenance, equipment maintenance, automotive maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical, and military experience is acceptable
  • Exposure to formalized safety programs preferred, such as Lock Out/Tag Out, confined space, OSHA awareness, Technical School Courses or Ladder Safety is a plus
