Job Summary
The Staff Electrical Engineer is a senior technical contributor within SlingWorks, one of Elbit America's most advanced engineering teams developing next-generation targeting and mission-system technologies. In this role, you will lead complex board-level electrical designs, contribute to system architecture decisions, and drive subsystem-level electrical integration while remaining hands-on throughout the full hardware lifecycle.You will solve challenging engineering problems, guide the development of advanced PCBAs, integrate processors, sensors, and high-speed interfaces, and collaborate closely with other senior engineers to co-develop robust, high-reliability electrical architectures. You will mentor junior engineers, lead design execution on major programs, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, mission-critical hardware.
What You'll Be Doing
โ€ข Lead the design and development of complex electrical and board-level hardware, including schematic capture, component selection, and interface definition
โ€ข Contribute to electrical architecture decisions across digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power domains
โ€ข Integrate processors, sensors, high-speed digital interfaces, and supporting electronics at the subsystem level
โ€ข Support and help define FPGA electrical integration strategies (no RTL required)
โ€ข Direct PCB layout activities to ensure signal integrity, EMC/EMI robustness, manufacturability, and compliance
โ€ข Lead board bring-up, electrical debug, validation, and root-cause analysis in lab environments
โ€ข Develop and implement test plans, validation strategies, and debug methodologies for program hardware
โ€ข Drive resolution of electrical issues across prototype and low-rate production builds
โ€ข Lead electrical design for SWaP-constrained systems, including power distribution, power integrity, efficiency, and thermal considerations
โ€ข Collaborate closely with mechanical, systems, and embedded software teams to ensure effective system-level integration
โ€ข Participate in architecture reviews, technical trade studies, and design reviews
โ€ข Support DFM/DFT approaches and help transition designs from prototype to manufacturing
โ€ข Perform and interpret electrical analysis, modeling, and simulation to reduce technical risk
โ€ข Provide mentoring, technical guidance, and constructive design reviews for junior and mid-level engineers
โ€ข Work collaboratively with other Staff and Senior Staff engineers to ensure cohesive system-level solutions

What You Bring
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (Master's preferred)
โ€ข Typically 14 years of experience in electronic design, hardware development, and system integration
โ€ข Proven ability to lead major design efforts and work collaboratively across multiple engineering disciplines
โ€ข Strong experience with schematic capture tools (such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition) and electrical analysis/simulation tools (such as LTSPICE)
โ€ข Familiarity with PLM or ERP tools
โ€ข Experience working in high-reliability, fast-paced environments supporting mission-critical systems
โ€ข Required training: ESD and safety training (can be completed within the first year)
โ€ข Experience with aerospace/defense, MIL-STD requirements, or DO-254 practices is a plus
