Expected salary range of $144,900 to $161,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Over the past decade, Constellation has invested more than $7.1 billion in capital across its nuclear fleet to support continued safe, reliable operations and long-term license extensions. We are planning multi-billion dollar investments through 2030 to include possible extended uprates and overall modernization of our nuclear facilities where appropriate.

We are seeking Engineers and other skilled technical experts to help Constellation, the largest private sector power producer in the world, continue to design, build and operate its nuclear fleet at world-class standards.

Primary Purpose of Position

Support Constellation interface activities with Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) as Constellation Generation increases nuclear (clean energy) power output capabilities to the power grid. RTOs include but are not limited to PJM, MISO, and NYISO. Interface activities include grid interconnection requests, grid interconnection studies, interim generation deliverability requests, necessary studies, grid material modifications.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement new or revised Grid Interconnection Agreements (GIAs)
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement interim deliverability agreements
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation as a subject matter expert of RTO study results including grid reinforcement conclusions
  • Possess excellent knowledge in power grid interconnection, power flow, grid congestion, and modifications to influence grid reinforcement conclusions.
  • Knowledge of applicable NERC, FERC and RTO requirements and regulations.
  • Directly inform leadership of short-term and long-term grid implications for increasing power output capabilities
  • Provide industry expertise to inform leaders about risk, schedule, and cost implications of grid reinforcement projects.
  • Provide instructions to Constellation nuclear operations of grid interconnection agreement, processes, limitations, and procedures
  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work to ensure grid interconnection activities support generation strategic goals
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of grid interconnections.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation as a subject matter expert of generation and excitation modeling per IEEE generation standards
  • Experience and ability to utilize grid interconnection software including Power System Simulator for Engineering (PSSE) and others as required.
  • Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 10 years of engineering experience
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience (e.g. project lead, inspection lead etc.), teamwork and leadership attributes
  • Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

  • Professional Engineer Registration
  • Advanced technical degree or coursework
