ARCO/Murray Power Solutions (AMPS) is currently seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our design team based in Downers Grove, Illinois. This role will be responsible for preparing detailed prelminary electrical system designs and power solutions in support of design/build projects that will include Entertainment, Controlled Environment Agriculture, Industrial, Commercial, and Manufacturing facilities.

Typical base compensation for the Staff Electrical Engineer role is between $80,000.00 and $125,000.00 Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Prepare detailed preliminary electrical designs in pursuit of design/build projects across several project-types
  • Design and specify power systems including load calculations, one-line diagrams, equipment sizing and selection, equipment layouts, lighting photometric calculations, and associated system controls for various projects
  • Provide electrical design direction projects and work with national network of design consultants to help deliver projects
  • Perform arc flash and coordination studies using SKM powertools
  • Work as an integral part of team procuring building switchgear, generators, UPS, and other power components directly from suppliers
  • Play a key role as part of the Power Solutions team delivering turnkey power solutions to our clients, this includes assisting in business development activities by finding solutions to complex projects
  • Provide value engineering reviews and alternate design options in order to maximize cost savings and better execute projects
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical issues as electrical expert
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline
  • 2-5 years' of electrical engineer/electrical design experience in support of commercial or industrial construction projects
  • BIM experience preferred - Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks,
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering software such as ETAP, SKM
  • Able to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
  • Preferred experience working for a electrical engineering design consultancy
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) is preferred; ARCO/Murray will support the pursuit of licensure of EIT and/or PE
  • Experience creating design spreadsheets or coding scripts is a plus
