Staff DevOps Engineer
Location: Pleasanton, CA (Hybrid โ 3โ4 days onsite/week)
Our client is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to lead the automation, scalability, and reliability of modern cloud infrastructure supporting customer-facing mobile applications. This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, improving engineering workflows, and driving DevOps best practices in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Android, iOS, and Flutter mobile applications.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable DevOps infrastructure using GitHub Actions and Microsoft Azure.
- Automate cloud infrastructure and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code and Azure automation tools.
- Manage and support Kubernetes environments running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Partner closely with engineering teams to improve development workflows, deployment reliability, and release velocity.
- Implement and manage identity solutions using Azure AD B2C.
- Build and maintain API integrations through Azure API Management (APIM).
- Monitor production environments, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and perform root cause analysis.
- Drive DevOps best practices around automation, scalability, security, and observability.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across infrastructure and release engineering initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Android, iOS, and Flutter applications.
- Strong expertise with GitHub Actions for build, deployment, and release automation.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including infrastructure automation.
- Experience managing Kubernetes workloads, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Experience implementing Azure AD B2C identity management solutions.
- Experience working with Azure API Management (APIM).
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across cloud infrastructure and production environments.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills working with distributed engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in startup or high-growth environments.
- Experience improving release processes for customer-facing mobile applications.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
