Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for ensuring continuous operation of filling milk crates with cooked potatoes and stacking those milk crates onto pallets.
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Watches the basket filling equipment and scales in the cooling tunnel area to ensure smooth operation.
• Assures that baskets are properly filled to correct weight measurements in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensure proper placement of milk crates onto clean pallets.
• Keep equipment and the cooling tunnel floor area clean in between completed pallets.
• Properly utilize hand dip stations to maintain sanitary work environment.
• Back up the pallet jack operator as necessary during breaks and meal periods.
• Effectively communicating relevant information to fellow employees on the shift.
• General cleaning of equipment and maintaining good housekeeping throughout the department per the daily sanitation checklist.
• Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
• Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and qualityPerform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
