Key Job Responsibilities
  • Achieve and maintain an annual repair efficiency rate of at least 85% by delivering high-quality mechanical repairs and services.
  • Ensure that rework hours are kept under 3% of total billed hours to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere strictly to standardized repair times and actively work toward meeting or exceeding balanced scorecard objectives, contributing to overall company performance metrics.
  • Prioritize health and safety in every task, strictly following all regulatory and company policies to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Accurately maintain detailed documentation related to repair processes, parts used, and time spent, while implementing contamination control measures to protect equipment integrity.
  • Provide precise and timely quotes for repair services, maintaining transparent communication and exceptional customer service at every stage.
  • Diagnose mechanical and technical issues using advanced troubleshooting procedures, ensuring all repairs are thoroughly tested, validated, and meet quality standards before completing work orders.
  • Apply systematic failure analysis techniques to diagnose complex problems effectively, facilitating long-term solutions and minimizing recurring issues.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Education and Experience:
    • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or GED; Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or related field is highly preferred.
    • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar mechanical or field technician role, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

    Skills and Abilities:
    • Demonstrated strong communication skills, capable of providing excellent customer interactions and clear reporting.
    • Proficiency with fundamental arithmetic required for precise measurement and calculation during repairs.
    • Competency in basic computer applications necessary to manage work orders, documentation, and communication tools.
    • Exceptional troubleshooting skills with the ability to swiftly and accurately diagnose mechanical problems.
    • Solid mechanical aptitude with familiarity in diesel engines, heavy machinery, or related equipment technologies.
    • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including potential shift work, to meet operational demands efficiently.

Additional Information
Additional requirements include certifications for operating forklifts and manlifts, enhancing safety and operational capability on-site. MSHA certification and respirator training may be required depending on specific job assignments. Candidates must possess a comprehensive basic mechanics toolset and hold a valid Driver's License to accommodate travel as part of the field technician duties.
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $$38.00 - $60.00. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
