Job Description


Job Title: Protective Services Officer (Full Time/Part Time/Per Diem available Various Shifts)

Mentored by: Tiffany Henry Accountable to: Elders, Families, and Core Teams


Position Summary:

As a member of the St. Johnโ€™s Protective Services Team, The Protective Services Officer provides safety and protection to residents, visitors and employee. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Also does checks to ensure safety of facility and grounds.

Qualifications & Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED


  • Valid NYS driverโ€™s license with ability to meet agency driving standards required


  • Basic computer knowledge


  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services


  • Willingness to embrace and exemplify St. Johnโ€™s Brand Characteristics


Preferred

  • Associates degree or 60 college credits
  • At least 1 year of security or public safety work
  • NYS Security Guard Card certification and experience
  • Emergency Medical First Responder or E.M.T. / CPR-AED Certification



Position Responsibilities:


  • Performs all duties of a Protective Services Officer


  • Performs Patrols of Campus


  • Answer Calls for Service


  • Investigates complaints


  • Respond to medical and fire alarms


  • Prepare Logs and Reports


  • Perform other task as assigned




Physical Requirements:


  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects;
