Job description

As a Senior Technical Program Manager with MTSI you will support the Advanced Technology Division (ATD) of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). This position requires active collaboration across multiple organizations and lines of effort. The ATD develops a technology agnostic portfolio driven by pressing DAF demand signals, requiring rapid ideation, planning, and execution across several functional areas. This position will be located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. This position is for 100% in-person attendance at Wright-Patterson AFB.
Responsibilities
Duties to be independently executed include but are not limited to:
โ€ข Use experience, technical education, resources, and creativity to support the creation of multiple technical concept development and associated programmatic plans across a broad spectrum of technologies for military applications within the Advanced Technology Development (ATD) Division.
โ€ข Assist Portfolio Leads in assessment and maturation of future force concepts based on USAF and USSF requirements, MAJCOM, and other stakeholder inputs.
โ€ข Assists in identification of major trends impacting the USAF and USSF S&T program by analyzing long-term warfighter needs, DoD sponsored studies, wargame results, HHQ guidance, think tank publications, and TD strategic planning activities.
โ€ข Assists in generation of communication products regarding AFRL strategy/transformational products and policies with AFRL Technical Directorates, SAF/HAF, DDR&E, other service labs, and industry.
โ€ข Apply integration, communication, coordination, organizational and planning expertise to technical research and development activities across a broad spectrum of functional disciplines in order to assist with the implementation of program direction.
โ€ข Establish trusted and influential relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
โ€ข Assist in communicating and briefing status of assigned efforts to internal and external stakeholders.
โ€ข Work both individually and with a broader team.
โ€ข Support the development and communication of roadmaps for programs and associated technologies and product lines.
โ€ข Assist in the development of pre- and post-award documentation, where applicable.
โ€ข Assist in milestone planning, tracking, scheduling, briefing preparations, staff coordination, and decision documentation preparation.
โ€ข Assist in accessing databases and performing analyses.
โ€ข Assist in the creation and approval of acquisition strategies, program planning and creation, early capability development strategies and project planning, and the transition of program execution to the appropriate Program Executive Officer.
โ€ข Assist in the interpretation and development of systems engineering artifacts (both document based and model based): requirements/capabilities, behaviors, architecture, verification and validation methodologies
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
โ€ข Minimum 10 years of experience in a DoD program, project management, or systems engineering position with cost, schedule, and performance responsibilities.
โ€ข Experience working on classified programs.
โ€ข Must be located within commuting distance of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio to support in person attendance needs.
โ€ข Must be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, can accomplish high-level tasks independently, and works well with other team members and customers.
โ€ข Must have a high level of motivation, be adept at exploring and learning about new technologies, and have a demonstrated record of successfully taking ownership and responsibility for projects.
โ€ข Must have a demonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate with both internal and external organizations to accomplish common goals.
โ€ข Must have the ability to multi-task, respond to quick turn-around requests, and produce quality products with minimal oversight.
โ€ข Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education Requirements
โ€ข Master's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant discipline.
o Experience may be considered in substitution for education
Desired Skills and Experience
โ€ข 15+ years of PM or Engineering and relevant technical experience.
โ€ข Knowledge of the Air Force Research Laboratory's framework, directives, and policies.
โ€ข Experience working on-site in a client government environment
โ€ข Experience in systems engineering to include mission engineering and model-based systems engineering
Clearance Requirements
โ€ข Must possess a Top-Secret security clearance with SCI and SAR eligibility
โ€ข U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
