Senior Sourcing Analyst – Fresh Meat

Location: Downtown Cincinnati, OH — Onsite 5 days/week

Open Role Due To: Sourcing and supply chain support needs

About the Role

Our client, a leading national grocery and retail organization, is seeking a Senior Sourcing Analyst – Fresh Meat to support sourcing, supplier performance, and supply continuity across its Fresh Meat categories.

This is a highly execution-focused, analytical role for someone who understands how physical products move through a complex supply chain. You’ll work closely with sourcing leadership to monitor suppliers after sourcing decisions are made—evaluating product availability, fill rates, inventory flow, service levels, costs, and potential supply disruptions.

This position does not own overall sourcing strategy or lead supplier negotiations. Instead, you’ll be in the details every day: identifying issues, analyzing root causes, building cost models, monitoring supplier performance, and helping the team protect product availability and supply continuity.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor supplier performance, service levels, product availability, fill rates, and inventory flow across Fresh Meat categories.
  • Support the Sourcing Manager with supplier performance monitoring and continuous improvement targets.
  • Administer supplier assessments, scorecards, KPIs, and related performance analytics.
  • Prepare planning guides, benchmarking analyses, and data to support supplier negotiations.
  • Perform day-to-day sourcing analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and performance tracking.
  • Conduct sourcing opportunity assessments and supplier benchmarking.
  • Build cost models and supplier award optimization scenarios.
  • Evaluate total cost of ownership (TCO) across supplier pricing, delivery, operations, quality, and other cost drivers.
  • Identify supply risks, fill-rate gaps, inventory issues, and potential disruptions before they impact the business.
  • Escalate supply risks and support recovery and corrective-action efforts.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine whether supply disruptions are related to forecasting, supplier capacity, logistics, inventory, supplier constraints, or other factors.
  • Support supplier onboarding and additional sourcing and supply chain processes.
  • Manage multiple priorities, projects, and supplier issues simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Work directly with a large-scale, high-volume supply chain where product availability and supply continuity have immediate business impact.
  • Gain exposure to Fresh Meat and other complex perishable-product sourcing considerations.
  • Own meaningful day-to-day supplier and supply chain analysis rather than operating solely at a strategic level.
  • Work across sourcing, inventory, supplier performance, cost analysis, and supply risk.
  • Opportunity to apply advanced Excel and analytical skills to real-world sourcing and product-flow decisions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in direct product sourcing, supply chain, category management, or a closely related function involving physical products.
  • Strong experience monitoring and analyzing supplier performance, service levels, KPIs, fill rates, and product availability.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
  • Experience performing cost-benefit analysis, cost modeling, benchmarking, and/or opportunity assessments.
  • Understanding of total cost of ownership beyond purchase price, including delivery, operations, quality, and other supplier-related costs.
  • Ability to identify supply risks, inventory-flow issues, availability gaps, and potential disruptions.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to determine whether supply issues stem from forecasting, capacity, logistics, supplier constraints, or other operational factors.
  • Experience tracking and reporting sourcing or supply chain performance.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Fresh Meat and/or Seafood sourcing experience is highly preferred but not required.
  • Experience with grocery, food and beverage, produce, refrigerated/frozen products, or other perishable categories.
  • Knowledge of cold-chain supply chains.
  • Understanding of shrink, spoilage, shelf-life, and other perishable-product considerations.
  • Experience developing or managing supplier scorecards and performance metrics.
  • Inventory management and product-availability analysis experience.
  • Fill-rate analysis and supply-continuity experience.
  • Category Management experience.
  • Experience supporting high-volume retail or consumer product supply chains.

Interview Process

Interviews may be conducted via Microsoft Teams and/or onsite in Cincinnati. Candidates should be prepared to provide availability for both virtual and onsite interviews.
