Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain the Python/pytest automated test suite; monitor and report on code coverage standards and integrate test reporting into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Design and execute test strategies for an embedded medical device platform, covering OS image builds (Yocto/Bitbake) or similar, embedded C/C++ application logic, Python system tools, and a device management web UI.
  • Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing: SD card flashing, device boot validation, serial console verification, and environment configuration switching.
  • Verify security features including secure boot, PKI signing workflows, and mTLS provisioning including certificate enrollment, key storage, and cloud-based secrets management.
  • Test cloud connectivity services including JSON telemetry, video streaming (RTMPS), and OTA software update delivery.
  • Contribute to CI/CD quality gates by validating static analysis results, linting outcomes, and unit test reporting; support SBOM generation and CVE triage for embedded Linux components
  • Produce IEC 62304-compliant test documentation including test plans, protocols, reports, and requirements traceability matrices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across software, cloud, regulatory, and clinical teams on test planning and defect resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of software test engineering experience with embedded Linux internals systems and Yocto/Bitbake (or similar) OS image validation.
  • 4+ years of Python and pytest experience, including coverage tooling and CI/CD integration.
  • 4+ years of CI/CD pipeline experience with integrated quality gates (static analysis, linting, SBOM/CVE reporting).
  • Experience with HIL testing: SD card imaging, device boot, serial console, and on-device script verification.
  • Experience with PKI, secure boot, and mTLS provisioning testing for embedded hardware.
  • Experience testing cloud-connected devices: TLS connectivity, video streaming, and OTA update validation.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of IEC 62304, FDA design controls, ISO 14971, and FDA cybersecurity guidance.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across embedded, cloud, and regulatory teams.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is: $109,000 - $174,800

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
