Job description

As a Strategic Analytics Associate, you'll work with the risk team to generate thoughtful analytics and recommendations to the business concerning strategy development, implementation, operational controls, and performance monitoring.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain periodic analytics to provide management with full insight into emerging trends and the quality of the originated accounts
  • Attain a detailed understanding of key performance metrics and profitability drivers, enabling the delivery of insights encompassing the full account lifecycle
  • Acquire an understanding of the operational processes (e.g. manual underwriting, portfolio management, collections) which will aid in understanding acquisition performance drivers
  • Conduct complex analysis including data collection, analysis, visualization and presentation of results to partners and management in support of card acquisition strategies and new product/feature initiatives
  • Support formulation of risk strategy and product roadmap, partnering with and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Mange risk strategies to drive financial performance and risk mitigation improvements while innovating to ensure optimal strategy performance with growth mindset
  • Work closely with Risk Governance, Legal and Compliance to ensure policies comply with laws and regulations
  • Conduct ad hoc analytics and contribute to various projects representing Risk Management

Required qualifications, capabilities, and/or skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline from an accredited college/university required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Risk Management or other quantitative experience
  • Educational or professional background in statistics, econometrics, finance, or other quantitative field
  • Highly skilled at SQL coding, Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau
  • Ability to query large amounts of data and transform the raw data into actionable management information
  • Ability to logically structure analyses using strong analytical, interpretive, and problem solving skills
  • Experience delivering recommendations to management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
