Qualifications

  • Support the Director of Purchasing by collecting and analyzing the business requirements, key cost drivers, supplier capabilities and industry trends to develop and implement category sourcing strategies that will optimize overall value for Aphena Pharma while ensuring supply and quality.
  • Develop and grow relationships between key suppliers and key business stakeholders to ensure long term value for Aphena Pharma.
  • Identify new raw material sources where appropriate and drive approval through respective processes. Troubleshoot inbound raw material supply chain constraints
  • Work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. Utilize influencing skills to bridge gaps across functional teams.
  • Secure and deploy resources effectively and efficiently. Identify different ways to accomplish work when resources are limited.
  • Collect and analyze complex data to provide meaningful data trends and insights to develop category sourcing strategies. Use key sourcing tools and techniques in line with the approved strategic sourcing methodology.
  • Understand and use key financial indicators (TCO, EBITDA, ROI, payment terms, saving measures, etc.) to help make better business decisions
  • Negotiate independently using key negotiating skills to obtain expected business results.
  • Develop and track project action plans to ensure projects are delivered on time and with expected results.
  • Promote a high level of customer satisfaction in supporting the needs of Aphena projects and requirements for Purchasing guidance and leadership.
  • Recommends and implements changes in processes or procedures for assigned purchasing areas
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • BS/BA Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.
  • CPSM Certified Professional in Supply Management desired.
  • Minimum of 8 years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with appropriate business experience required.
  • Experience sourcing and purchasing pharmaceutical and industrial chemicals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sourcing and supply strategies, purchasing function concepts and of commodity tracking processes and practices.
  • Experience sourcing and purchasing packaging items โ€“ both product contact and secondary.
  • Excellent negotiation skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and component applications in a pharmaceutical cGMP manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence others, in a team-based environment required.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks required while understanding the need to perform with a high sense of urgency.
  • Excellent ability to identify, communicate, and implement continuous improvement opportunities required.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word required.
  • In depth knowledge or MRP/ERP systems
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
