Job description

MAG Aerospace is seeking to identify a Senior Operations Manager to support operations based out of Webster Outlying Field (WOLF), MD.

This position is the primary point of contact for all operations at multiple field sites concerning mission execution, deployed end-user interface, maintenance operations, and personnel scheduling in support of operations.

*This position is contingent upon receipt of government funding and hiring authorization.

At this time, a start date has not been determined.

We are seeking to identify and engage highly qualified professionals for a talent pipeline. Applicants may be contacted as program funding and hiring approvals are finalized.


Duties include, but not limited to:

  • The Operations Manager is responsible for oversight to the company and subcontractor personnel and the successful performance and detailed technical management of the Contractor unit, directly supervising all members of the team.  

  • Ensure close coordination between all site leads and supervisors to minimize impacts on flight operations to include scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, operations, pilot training, ground mishaps, currencies, etc. 

  • Daily update of personnel trackers and scheduling  
  • Serves as the Program Manager’s right hand and the senior representative off and on site. 
  • Supervises and manages all personnel 
  • Approves timecards and expense reports of all direct reports.  
  • Maintain and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly aircraft utilization hours for reporting    
  • Perform the duties of the Site Manager in their absence 
  • Percentage of travel required: TBD

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills 

  • (10) years of required experience as a operations or project or program manager. 
  • Of the minimum ten (10) years of required experience, at least eight (8) years of the experience must be in managing complex engineering contractual vehicles of a similar man-hour size or larger and providing executive level communications to senior leadership.
  • Expert understanding and knowledge of training requirements for DoD programs
  • Proven capabilities in all aspects of program management including contract performance management, resource/cost management, schedule estimation and tracking, personnel staffing, risk management, requirements analysis, quality assurance activities, design and development of processes and procedures
  • Ability to effectively use typical project management and analytic tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft SharePoint.)

 

Experience & Education 

  • Master’s Degree in a Technical, IT or Computer Science Discipline

Clearance:

  • Must Currently Hold a Top Secret Security Clearance or Higher
  • US Citizenship required
