About this Role - Senior Project Controls Engineer
We are looking for a talented Senior Project Controls Engineer that has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for providing oversight, schedule coordination, management guidance, and technical expertise for all project controls and reporting aspects between M. J. Electric, LLC. and American Transmission Company (ATC).
What You'll Do
- Work closely with customer to ensure seamless communication for the planning and construction controls aspects of ATC Alliance electrical utility projects.
- Delegate activities and responsibilities while ensuring appropriate levels and assignments of accountability are defined and understood among the dedicated ATC Controls team.
- Support the ATC Controls team with the understanding of Primavera P6 scheduling and critical path method of construction schedule activities and sequence to develop and update internal and external schedule tracking.
- Work closely with project management to understand project scope, cost budget, timeline, and assumptions to effectively build the baseline schedule and incorporate updates with minimal additional operational input.
- Work with ATC and project management to develop resource loaded construction schedules using critical path method in Primavera P6.
- Familiarity with the Defense Contract Management Agency's 14-point schedule quality assessment check.
- Monitor cost/schedule performance through monthly progress updates and detailed variance analysis. Analyze impacts of variances and establish corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee all ATC reporting and audit deliverables.
- Travel to jobsites may be necessary for coordination with project teams and customer.
What You'll Bring
- 5-7 years of experience in utility electrical scheduling in Primavera P6 software
- Proven communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide oversight to numerous projects throughout the ATC Alliance portfolio
- Must possess extensive comprehension and expertise of financial and productivity accounting terminology and tracking methods, KPI's and Earned Value.
- Capable of delegating activities, responsibilities, and authorities, ensuring appropriate levels and assignments of accountability are defined and understood.
- Extensive project controls skills with a track record of achievement of complex projects.
- Ability to work with Operations and Finance to identify and meet project and financial needs.
- BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or equivalent experience
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Excel, Access, Project
