We have a great opportunity for a motivated, solution-driven Product Sales Specialist (electrical distribution and control product lines) with Schneider Electric/Square D product knowledge, application experience, service, and engineering offering. This position is responsible for providing product knowledge, application solutions, and services by developing an excellent knowledge of our product and service offerings. This includes support after the sale, to address proper configuration and assurance of customer satisfaction. This position will be supporting branches in our Illinois and western Indiana branches and their customers. Preferred reporting location from our Rockford, IL or Evansville, IN branches.

 

 

How you will contribute:

  • Conducts market analysis to identify sales opportunities, identifying key contacts and valuable insight into the operations of potential customers.
  • Completes sales call, generate customer leads and complete expense reports on a weekly basis.
  • Prepares an annual sales forecast assigned territory for maximum productivity and sales growth.
  • Reports competitive conditions and feedback from customers to the management team.
  • Prospects and cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Promote & demonstrates new services, customer resources, and programs to customer base.
  • Coordinates secured customer orders with appropriate staff for order entry, tracking & fulfilment. 
  • Actively manages account base and new opportunities to maximize sales volume and gross profit margins.
  • Reads, reviews, interprets, follow schematics and blueprints to understand and define project scope and solution offering.
  • Follows up on all generated quotations to assure the customer is being serviced and document the proposed solution.
  • Follows and meets project schedules and deadlines.
  • Coordinates solidified projects with appropriate service providers and follows up on potential service/product opportunities.
  • Provides customer with appropriate product information the customer needs to make an informed purchase.
  • Attend product training classes to develop a superior product.
  • Understands and cultivates knowledge on core industrial products, including appropriate product substitutes.
  • Supports other branches in their efforts to secure and facilitate customer orders.
  • Encourages collaboration and is viewed as a team player.
  • Works safely with and around 480V, 120V, 24V, and pressurized systems, assuring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is utilized.
  • Assists with the reporting of accidents in a timely manner.
  • Understands, follows, and adheres to customer's safety guidelines when providing solutions.

 

 

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; preferred not required.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Schneider Electric/Square D product sales to include market analysis and sales forecasting.
  • Possess a valid driver's license & clean driving record.
  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, especially verbally.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including an ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well alone and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop strong interpersonal working relationships and work in a team environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation to provide exceptional customer experience.
  • Ability to use, read and interrupt measuring devices such as a tape measure.
  • Ability to use a computer, operating software and wiring/device marking systems.
  • Demonstrated motivation, willingness to learn and complete quality work.
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays during the week.
