Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sportsbook Ticket Writer processes wagers for customers who are betting on the results of sporting events, and is responsible for efficient and timely transactions and outstanding guest service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

  • Professionally engages with patrons to effectively resolve disputes and answer questions and enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintains and balances a till for use in issuing and redeeming tickets and vouchers, including following company void and cash handling procedures.
  • Communicates and promotes our wagering options and promotions to patrons.
  • Has a strong knowledge of when and where to escalate potential complaints, business risks, and potential VIP customers.
  • Maintains a neat and well-stocked window for the next shift.
  • Adheres to all rules and regulations set forth by the Property and by the Virginia Lottery.
  • Consistently demonstrates values and behaviors consistent with the Hard Rock brand.
  • Understands sports wagering terminology/products, and manages customer expectations.
  • Exceptional communication/ problem solving skills to clearly articulate ideas, frame problems and offer solutions with both internal and external customers

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS

  • Attend seminars when needed.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

  • 1+ years’ experience in Gaming and or Sportsbook related roles preferred.
  • Strong background and in-depth knowledge of the gaming industry and betting process preferred.
  • Customer Service and prior cash-handling experience required.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time and work in a loud, smoking environment.
  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must be currently located near Bristol, VA or willing to relocate to the area.
