Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) & Asset Inventory Project Engineer to support nationwide facility assessment programs utilizing advanced AI-powered data collection and asset management technologies. The ideal candidate will have a background in HVAC, Electrical, Fire Protection Systems, Architecture, Facilities Management, or related engineering disciplines, combined with hands-on experience working in occupied facilities and managing projects.
This position involves conducting facility assessments, collecting asset data using AI-enabled mobile tools, evaluating building systems and infrastructure, analyzing asset conditions, and developing capital planning recommendations for clients across commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, and government sectors.
Job Responsibilities
Facility Assessments & Asset Inventory
  • Perform comprehensive Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs) of existing buildings and infrastructure.
  • Conduct field surveys of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, architectural, structural, and site systems.
  • Utilize AI-driven data collection platforms, mobile applications, imaging technologies, and cloud-based asset management systems to inventory building assets.
  • Verify, document, and classify assets including equipment condition, age, expected useful life, capacity, and maintenance status.
  • Capture field data, photographs, equipment nameplate information, and location details accurately and efficiently.

Engineering Evaluation
  • Assess the physical condition and performance of HVAC, electrical, fire protection, architectural, and building envelope systems.
  • Identify deferred maintenance, life safety concerns, code deficiencies, and capital renewal requirements.
  • Evaluate remaining useful life (RUL) and replacement costs for building assets.
  • Develop facility condition indices (FCI) and capital improvement recommendations.

Project Management
  • Manage multiple assessment projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule and budget requirements.
  • Coordinate site access, client meetings, and stakeholder communications.
  • Develop project work plans, field schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Track project deliverables and ensure quality control standards are met.
  • Support proposal development and technical scope preparation.

Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Review and validate AI-collected asset data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Analyze facility data to identify trends, risks, and investment priorities.
  • Prepare technical reports, executive summaries, condition assessments, and capital planning documents.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and project stakeholders.

Client Support
  • Work directly with facility managers, maintenance personnel, and operational staff.
  • Conduct interviews to understand facility challenges and maintenance practices.
  • Provide technical guidance regarding asset management strategies and capital planning initiatives.

Qualifications
