Job description

Gold and Blue Nation is looking for a motivated, team-oriented Sports Producer to help create local WVU sports programming. This is a great opportunity for someone starting their career in sports media who wants hands-on experience in TV production, editing, and content creation.

About the Role:

In this position, you'll work alongside our sports team to help produce a variety of WVU-related content for TV, web, and social media. This is a behind-the-scenes role focused on supporting shows, creating content, and assisting with live productions.

You'll gain experience in:


  • Writing and editing sports segments
  • Shooting video and gathering highlights
  • Helping produce live and recorded broadcasts
  • Creating content for digital platforms

No on-air work is required.


What You'll Do:


  • Assist in producing weekly WVU sports shows (football, basketball, baseball seasons)
  • Help coordinate interviews and gather video for programs
  • Edit video, audio, and photos for TV and digital content
  • Support live broadcasts (including pregame shows) from the control room
  • Capture highlights, press conferences, and other events as needed
  • Help prepare content for web streams and social media
  • Organize video and photo files

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in producing weekly WVU sports shows (football, basketball, baseball seasons)
  • Help coordinate interviews and gather video for programs
  • Edit video, audio, and photos for TV and digital content
  • Support live broadcasts (including pregame shows) from the control room
  • Capture highlights, press conferences, and other events as needed

What We're Looking For:

  • Interest in sports and storytelling (knowledge of WVU sports is a plus)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic video editing and writing ability
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Comfortable working evenings/weekends during sports seasons
  • Familiarity with Adobe software or willingness to learn

This is an entry-level position-prior professional experience is helpful but not required.
