Community & Business Development Manager

Position Summary

The Community & Business Development Manager is responsible for driving outside sales growth, increasing catering revenue, developing community partnerships, organizing fundraising programs, and executing grassroots marketing initiatives across multiple Jimmy John’s locations.

This role serves as the public-facing representative of the brand within the communities we serve. The primary objective is to build long-term relationships that generate recurring catering business, strengthen community engagement, increase brand visibility, and drive overall store sales growth.

This is not a traditional inside sales or office position. This role requires someone who is highly self-motivated, relationship-driven, organized, creative, and deeply engaged in their local community. Success in this position comes from building trust, creating visibility, generating opportunities, and consistently developing business outside the four walls of the stores.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $35,000 annually

Core Responsibilities

Outside Sales & Business Development

• Generate new catering and business accounts through community outreach and relationship development

• Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, hospitals, construction companies, sports organizations, churches, nonprofits, and community leaders

• Conduct in-person visits and ongoing follow-up with potential catering clients

• Develop recurring catering opportunities and long-term business partnerships

• Identify opportunities to grow sales within each market

• Maintain consistent prospecting and outside sales activity

• Represent the company professionally throughout the community

Fundraising & Community Partnerships

• Organize and manage fundraiser nights and community partnership events

• Build relationships with schools, PTOs, booster clubs, youth sports organizations, churches, and nonprofit groups

• Coordinate fundraiser logistics including scheduling, promotion, execution, and payout tracking

• Increase store participation and visibility within the local community

• Create new partnership opportunities that drive traffic and sales

Grassroots & Guerrilla Marketing

• Develop and execute grassroots marketing initiatives that increase local brand awareness

• Coordinate in-store and off-site sampling campaigns

• Create creative guerrilla-style marketing ideas that generate community buzz and customer engagement

• Identify high-traffic opportunities for local outreach and promotional activities

• Organize local pop-up events, sponsorship activations, and community promotions

• Build cross-promotional opportunities with local businesses and organizations

• Continuously identify innovative ways to increase visibility and market penetration within each community
