Marketing Manager, Reputation and Community Management

Aptean

Alpharetta, GA • On-site

Full-time

Job description

Overview
Are you ready for what's next, now?
Aptean is building a dedicated Reputation & Community Marketing function, and we're looking for a strategic builder to lead it. The Manager, Reputation & Community Marketing will own how Aptean shows up across open-web communities, review platforms, and AI-mediated buyer research channels. This is a high-visibility, high-autonomy role at the intersection of community building, customer advocacy, content strategy, and LLM optimization.
The way B2B buyers evaluate software has fundamentally changed. AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini now synthesize vendor reputations from reviews, forums, and community discussions-often delivering a verdict before a buyer ever visits a website. This role builds and operates the system that ensures Aptean is accurately, credibly, and prominently represented in those environments.
This is not a traditional social media or demand generation role. You'll think like a publisher, operate like a community builder, and report impact in terms of pipeline influence, reputation health, and AI visibility.
About the Role
This role sits within Marketing and works closely with Product Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, and Field Marketing. You'll have executive sponsorship, ownership of a new strategic function, and the mandate to build durable infrastructure-not one-off campaigns.
You'll define the strategy, stand up the programs, activate internal experts, manage partners, and create the operating rhythm that compounds Aptean's reputation over time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own Aptean's open-web community presence and LLM optimization strategy across Reddit, Quora, StackExchange, LinkedIn communities, and high-value industry forums
  • Lead proactive, expert-driven engagement including AMAs, thought leadership seeding, and participation in conversations that shape buyer perception and AI-generated vendor comparisons
  • Ensure community engagement is authentic and value-first, with Aptean team members participating as credible domain experts-not brand accounts
  • Partner with or manage agencies capable of producing high-quality, expert-driven content that strengthens authority, engagement signals, and LLM visibility
  • Continuously monitor open-web discussions, emerging trends, and content gaps using tools such as Gravity Scan, Writesonic, and native platform search
  • Surface high-value engagement opportunities for Aptean SMEs and build a repeatable intelligence loop to inform community and content priorities
  • Conduct and maintain competitive visibility audits across forums and review platforms to identify gaps, whitespace, and reputation risks
  • Benchmark Aptean's presence against competitors and assess accuracy and prominence in AI-generated outputs
  • Build and operate an SME activation program, including playbooks, response templates, training, and governance frameworks
  • Enable scalable, compliant, on-brand expert participation without compromising authenticity or increasing compliance risk
  • Build and manage an always-on, trigger-based review pipeline across G2, Gartner Peer Insights, and TrustRadius
  • Maintain review profiles as structured data assets optimized for both human buyers and AI synthesis engines
  • Report program performance in terms of pipeline influence, revenue impact, and AI visibility metrics
About You
  • You are a builder who has stood up programs from scratch and knows how to sequence decisions when resources are constrained
  • You are a community native who understands that trust-not volume-is the core asset in community spaces
  • You can clearly articulate the difference between authentic participation and astroturfing, and why that distinction matters
  • You are fluent in LLM-era marketing and understand how large language models synthesize vendor reputation from open-web signals
  • You can translate AI visibility and reputation health into business impact for senior leadership
  • You are a systems thinker who sees how community engagement, review velocity, SME activation, and advocacy programs compound over time
  • You are a strong operator who can manage small teams, external partners, and cross-functional stakeholders with clear SLAs
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with meaningful experience across community, customer advocacy, content, or product marketing
  • Demonstrated experience building or managing community programs across Reddit, Quora, LinkedIn, or industry forums
  • Familiarity with open-web reputation signals and LLM visibility concepts; experience with tools like Gravity Scan or Writesonic is a strong plus
  • Experience managing review and rating platforms such as G2, Gartner Peer Insights, and TrustRadius
  • Experience with advocate platforms such as Influitive, ReferenceEdge, or similar tools
  • Proven ability to build SME enablement programs, content playbooks, or internal governance frameworks
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering across CS, Sales, Field Marketing, and agencies
  • Exceptional written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to report ROI to senior leadership
  • Experience with CRM platforms and marketing operations concepts including attribution and pipeline reporting
