Position Summaryย 

The Human Resources Manager serves as the senior HR leader onsite at International Spices, a manufacturing company within the Woodland Gourmet portfolio. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Human Resources at Woodland Gourmet andย maintainsย a dotted-line relationship to theย Presidentย of International Spices.ย 

The HR Managerย is responsible forย leading all human resources functions at the facility, aligning local workforce strategies with enterprise-wide HR initiatives while supporting business performance, operational excellence, food safety standards, and employee engagement.ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

Strategic HR Leadershipย 

  • Act as the primary HR partner to the Presidentย and plant leadership teamย 

  • Alignย site-level HR strategies with Woodland Gourmetโ€™s enterprise HR frameworkย 

  • Provide counsel on organizational design, workforce planning,ย and changeย managementย 

  • Support business growth, integration, and operational initiativesย 

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planningย 

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for production, maintenance, quality, and administrative rolesย 

  • Develop staffing plans to support seasonal production and capacity requirementsย 

  • Implement workforce forecasting strategies in partnership with operationsย 

Employee Relations & Cultureย 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employeesย 

  • Lead investigations and resolve workplace concernsย 

  • Drive engagement initiatives to promote retention and a high-performance cultureย 

  • Ensure consistent application of policies and fair employment practicesย 

Compliance & Risk Managementย 

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment lawsย 

  • Partner with operationsย and Safety Managerย to support OSHA compliance and food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF)ย 

  • Manage workersโ€™ compensation, unemployment claims, and regulatory reportingย 

  • Maintainย accurateย HR records and reporting metricsย 

Payroll Processingย 

  • Oversee and manage payroll processes for the site, ensuringย accurateย andย timelyย processing, compliance with wage and hour laws, coordination with Finance, and resolution of payroll-related inquiries and discrepanciesย 

Compensation & Benefitsย 

  • Administer compensation and incentive programs aligned with corporate guidelinesย 

  • Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, vendor coordination, employee communication, and issue resolutionย 

  • Partner with Woodland Gourmet HR on annual benefits planning and open enrollmentย 

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, action planning, recognition programs, and retention strategiesย 

Training & Developmentย 

  • Oversee onboarding programs for hourly and salaried employeesย 

  • Identifyย training needs across production and leadership teamsย 

  • Support leadership development and succession planning effortsย 

Performance Managementย 

  • Guide managers through goal setting, performance evaluations, and development planningย 

  • Support the roll out and communication on the annual and mid-year performance review processย 

  • Support accountability and performance improvement processesย 

Policy & Process Implementationย 

  • Implement enterprise HR policies at the site levelย 

  • Ensure consistent application of procedures and documentation standardsย 

  • Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and systemsย 

Other Dutiesย 

  • Perform other duties and specialย projects asย assigned to support businessย objectivesย and operational needsย 

Qualificationsย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fieldย 

  • 5โ€“8 years of progressive HR experience, including manufacturing or food production environmentsย 

  • Experience supporting hourly workforces in regulated environmentsย 

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and workplace safety regulationsย 

  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferredย

Woodland Gourmet hires exceptional people to perform a wide variety ofย important functionsย that contribute to the success of our organization.โ€ฏ We offer a competitive compensation package with benefits.โ€ฏ The estimated salary for this role willย be $85,000 to $117,000. This position is eligible for an annual bonus (based on theย incentiveย program terms and conditions).โ€ฏ Based on your qualifications,ย previousย experience, and transferable skills, the company willย determine, at its discretion, the salary offered and will reflect the market conditions and cost of living for your geographic location.โ€ฏย
