Job description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by supporting communication development as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) on a contract basis. This position offers the chance to work closely with licensed speech-language pathologists and educators, contributing directly to the academic and social success of students in a supportive school setting.
Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field
  • Current SLPA licensure in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience working with children or in pediatric settings, particularly within schools (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a positive, encouraging attitude
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with SLPs, teachers, parents, and other school staff
  • Excellent organization and documentation abilities
  • Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Implement speech-language therapy plans developed by the supervising speech-language pathologist
  • Conduct therapy sessions with individuals or small groups of students
  • Support students in achieving their communication goals as outlined in IEPs
  • Track and document student progress and session outcomes
