Job description

Location: Green Rock Correctional Center is an all-male, level 3 security state prison in Chatham, Virginia with a capacity of 1,038 inmates.
Schedule: Full-time. Monday โ€“ Friday, 7:15am โ€“ 4:15 pm 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
Pay rate: $29.81/hr. ($62,000 annually.) Candidates with a LICSW, LCSW, CSAC, CADC, or equivalent license/certification are eligible for a pay rate of $32.70/hour ($68,000 annually).

The SUD Social Worker is responsible for:

  • Monitoring patient compliance with all program and DOC rules and regulations
  • Performing assessments and assessing and evaluating inmates' needsย 
  • Providing quality clinical services and case management to assigned inmates in accordance with Spectrumโ€™s clinical design and inย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย compliance with all licensing, accreditation, and regulatory bodies.
  • Providing group treatment to patients using Spectrum curriculum and following group facilitation protocol as trained.
  • Completing all required documentation for services as required by Spectrum, DOC, and all licensing, accreditation, and regulatory bodies within established timeframes.
  • Completing all outcome measurement tools as required by Spectrum, DOC, and licensing within required timeframes.
  • Maintaining records in accordance with Spectrum and VA DOC policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining and ensuring accuracy of CORIS screens.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary treatment planning, case reviews, conferences and other meetings as directed.
  • Maintaining comprehensive current clinical skills, competencies, licensure, and certification as required.
  • Preparing and submitting all required reports.
  • Serving as a role model/mentor for patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ensuring program operates in accordance with Spectrumโ€™s and DOCโ€™s ethics and boundaries policies.
  • Providing referrals and aftercare services as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelorโ€™s degree in clinical psychology, education-counseling, medicine, psychology, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, social work, or closely related field and a minimum of two years of supervised counseling experience required.
  • Licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LPC) or CSAC, CADC certification preferred.
  • DOC experience preferred.
  • Medication Assisted Treatment experience preferred
  • Knowledge of local/regional community resources for substance use recovery and reentry stabilization.
