Job description

Woodlands Market, Marin and San Francisco's premier gourmet grocery store, has an opening for a Bakery and Coffee Supervisor. Reporting to the Bakery and Coffee Manager, The Bakery and Coffee Supervisor/Lead is primarily responsible for assisting the department manager in managing all aspects of the front of the house/service counters for both coffee and bakery. Oversee service staff of bakery and coffee service counters.

Provide and ensure that team members provide warm friendly customer service for the bakery/coffee case including answering questions, selecting products, packaging and handing to the customer with a smile. Oversee inventory of bakery/coffee counters/case and orders product using tools such as movement reports to ensure maximizing sales while reducing waste. Assist Bakery and Coffee Manager in overseeing weekly/monthly department promotions Maintain bakery case and coffee counter for product quality, expiration dates, and visual esthetics.

Maintain products in vicinity of case such as bread, cookies and other baked goods. Products should be stocked, faced, clean, and fresh always. May perform some basic bakery duties including baking off cookies, cutting cakes, writing names on cakes, packing etc..

Maintaining an effective -- positive, amicable, upbeat and 'smile first' -- customer service orientation. Observe sanitation protocols. Observe and ensure staff observe all opening and closing procedures including checking with department manager at beginning and end of shift.

Making and ensuring that team members make all coffee beverages to customer satisfaction and are delivered with a smile. May perform some basic bakery duties including baking off cookies, bread, cutting cakes, writing names on cakes, etc... Requirements: 1-2 years customer service experience in lead or supervisor role Excellent verbal and customer service skills

Able to prioritize work and handle multiple concurrent tasks. Ability to lift objects up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and stand or walk for more than 4 hours per day. Who Are We.
