About the job SPECIAL PROCEDURES TECHNOLOGIST
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-
Special Procedures Technologist
SPEC PROC TECH
Full-Time
Special Procedures Technologist candidates will have the following job responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform contrast media administration according to age- and weight-specific guidelines.
  • Set up sterile trays and maintain a sterile field according to hospital protocol.
  • Scrub and assist the interventional physician during interventional procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of drugs, including their actions, side effects, and contraindications for administration.
  • Exhibit the ability to start and maintain IV access. Accurately follow physician orders, document exam completion in Meditech, scan documents, and verify images in PACS.
  • Properly measure and dispose of radioactive waste in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS-
Special Procedures Technologist

Full-Time
Special Procedures Technologist candidates must meet the following minimum job qualifications:
  • BLS certification required.
  • Completion of ACLS training within six months of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients, guests, physicians, and other employees.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Special Procedures, Cath Lab, EP Lab preferred.
  • Shift Requirements: Monday - Friday (4, 10 Hour Shifts) - Rotating Call Coverage - Between 8-10 Call Days per Month)
  • Current license or registry certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
    • OR Current license or registry from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)].
    ARRT, RCES, or RCIS cert required
