CST OR Seasonal

$35 per hour plus differentials

Program runs September 20, 2026- April 3, 2027

Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides direct and indirect nursing services to the surgical patient under the supervision of the professional nurse, and performs tasks necessary to the functioning of the Surgical Services Unit according to the standards and policies of Operating Room care

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Performs necessary technical skills in a scrub role requiring aseptic technique as delineated through standards of Operating Room care.

· Documents accurately on all records, as indicated by policy.

· Attendance and being on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential job function.

· Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures

· Ensures surgical equipment is functioning properly and safely

· Anticipates the needs of the surgical team based on knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how they relate to the surgical patient and the procedure being performed


    PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

    · All seasonal are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.

    · Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.

    · Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.

    · During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).

    · Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.

    · Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)

    · Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.

    · Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026--27 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year.

    · Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.

    · Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.

    What qualifications you will need:
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Vocational School Graduate
    • (TS-C) Tech in Surgery - Certified, or (ST) Surgical Technologist, or (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist, or Work Experience in Lieu of Credential
    • +1 year operation room experience preferred
