Radiology Technologist Aide

OCR has been the premier provider of orthopedic care in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska for 55 years! The Radiology Technologist Aide provides excellent patient care and clerical assistance to the Radiology department. This position assists the Radiologic Technologist and staff through support duties to include but not limited to patient care and positioning, exam room set up and take down, data entry and order verification, cleaning protocols, and customer service for patients and other departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assistant to Radiologic Technologist.
  • Assists patients with mobility limitations to/from changing rooms, on/off table, and to/from parking lot.
  • Responsible for exam room set up and break down.
  • Provides customer service for Radiology Department.
  • Medical Records assist for Imaging Department.
  • Clerical tasks.
  • Stocking, cleaning, any duties requested from management team.
  • Cross train with Radiology Administrative Assistants for leave of absence coverage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Educational background in Health Sciences, Human Anatomy, patient care, or medical terminology helpful. Previous customer service experience a plus.
  • General understanding of HIPAA regulations is essential.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, ability to quickly learn imaging system, and similar computer applications.

Work is closely monitored by supervisor/manager; detailed instructions and procedures are generally provided

Travel Requirements

Position requires acceptable motor vehicle driving history, valid and free from restrictions, and must have a valid driver's license and appropriate vehicle insurance coverage. Ability to travel between all OCR locations.

Physical Requirements

  • The work environment is the typical office environment. The employee must be able to complete their work satisfactorily in an environment where there are significant distractions, including staff, patients, and vendors walking through and conversing, telephones ringing, conversations carrying over, loud noises, and interruptions to answer questions from others.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls up to 8 hours a day. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear and must be able to speak articulately. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and should do so in a sound and safe manner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
