Job description

SUMMARY:
Operate molding machines, complete paperwork and complete lot changes as necessary for production. Inspecting production produced to detect any quality defects present. Support Leads in daily department duties as requested by the Shift leads. Operator B will work with all machines in the Molding area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Inspects the housings being produced by using diagrams, blueprints, and checksheets
  2. Perform production lot changes, including verifying lot quantities and weighing parts.
  3. Working knowledge of inspection and measuring equipment.
  4. Training of new operators in molding procedures and machine operation.
  5. Perform other duties as required or directed to ensure department quality and product objectives are met.
  6. Support their shift team with questions on quality and processes.
  7. Should be able to make basic decisions concerning quality and machine operation.
  8. Should be able to contain suspect parts and write containments for defective parts and red lights.
  9. Knowledgeable on taking SPC measurements and entering data. Also be able to spot trends when they occur and write a containment based on that information.
  10. Able to re-measure parts for out of control parts on SPC and verify completed containments
  11. Understand and follow 5s procedures
  12. Delegates and oversees Inspection of completed lots and acceptance
  13. Updating molding boards for real time production, finish dates, priorities and maintenance information following the Priority Process Flow instructions.
  14. Clean molding machines and production area
  15. Continuously investigate for cost saving ideas and improvements throughout the factory to better improve operational Expenses.
  16. Maintain an average of 85% efficiency rating
