How does a Spatial Planner typically collaborate with stakeholders and other professionals during a project?

Spatial Planners regularly work with a wide range of stakeholders, including local government officials, architects, engineers, environmental consultants, and community members. Effective communication and collaboration are critical, as planners must balance differing perspectives and priorities to create practical, sustainable plans. This often involves organizing public consultations, presenting plans at meetings, and incorporating feedback into final proposals. Building strong relationships with other professionals ensures that projects are both feasible and aligned with regulatory and community needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Spatial Planner, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Spatial Planner, you need strong analytical abilities, a relevant degree in urban planning or geography, and knowledge of planning regulations and policies. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills help build consensus and navigate complex projects. These competencies ensure effective land use planning that balances social, environmental, and economic priorities.

Together, we forge unforgettable moments of connection, uniting storytelling and emotive design to create dynamic experiences and spaces that amplify brands and drive revenue.
WHAT WE BELIEVE

While most people look at something head-on, we tilt our heads to change perspective. We love building brands, experiences, stories, relationships, and moments that demand to be re-lived. At Elevate, creativity never stops.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Creative Director, Spatial role will play a key role in translating brand narratives into three-dimensional environments-from initial concept to final execution. You will lead the creative team in developing spatial and environmental design solutions for physical, built environments such as branded interiors, installations, pop-ups, preview centers, or permanent spaces.
This is not a purely visual or digital design role-proven spatial design experience is essential. Ideal candidates bring a deep understanding of how people interact with physical space, including materiality, circulation, scale, and atmosphere. You should be fluent in spatial planning and environmental storytelling and capable of guiding the creation of 2D and 3D design documentation for fabrication, installation, and implementation.
As Creative Director, you will be accountable for the quality of creative work across projects and responsible for maintaining strong client relationships. You will lead the creative vision for major engagements, ensuring work is strategically aligned with client goals and Elevate's creative standards. You'll inspire multidisciplinary teams, mentor emerging leaders, and drive innovation across disciplines.
You are a systems thinker and an expert storyteller who can bridge brand, space, technology, and user experience into cohesive, emotionally resonant journeys. You thrive in ambiguity, lead with empathy and clarity, and bring an entrepreneurial mindset to growing both teams and ideas.
We welcome applicants from diverse design backgrounds-Environmental Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Scenic Design, or similar. However, you must be able to show professional work that demonstrates spatial thinking and execution in physical environments. This could include completed physical projects, design leadership in real-world installations, environmental graphics integrated into space, or other tangible, spatially-driven work.
