Bougie’s Donuts is a unique, gourmet donut shop and full service coffee/espresso bar located in Southwest Austin (Sunset Valley). We aim to bring people together over our amazing donuts and finely crafted espresso or cup of coffee. Our goal is to elevate the “traditional” donut experience, to love our employees well, and to provide excellent service to our customers.


We are looking for passionate donut makers to join our current team. We are located on 5400 Brodie Ln Suite 930. The ideal candidate is a dependable, creative, motivated, and hard-working.

Position Overview:

Time to make the Donuts:) As a Donut Maker, you will be responsible for the production of high-quality, small batch, delicious donuts that our customers have come to know and love. This role involves a combination of culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a team efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Donut Makers at Bougie's are essential in creating customer delight!

Key Responsibilities

Donut Production:

  • Prepare and mix donut batters and dough following established recipes.
  • Shape and cut donuts using various equipment such as cutters and molds.
  • Monitor proofing and frying times to ensure proper texture and flavor.
  • Decorate and glaze donuts with a variety of toppings, including icing, sprinkles, and fillings.
  • Ensure consistency in size, shape, and taste of donuts.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect donuts for defects, such as overcooked or undercooked items.
  • Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards in the work area.
  • Follow food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure the safety of the products.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor ingredient levels and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishing.
  • Keep track of inventory to prevent waste and ensure fresh ingredients are always available.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Operate and clean various kitchen equipment, including mixers, fryers, and ovens.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to maintenance staff or management.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other kitchen staff and management to coordinate production schedules and ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in training new employees and ensuring they follow established procedures.

Customer Service:

  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions about the donuts and making recommendations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring that the product meets or exceeds expectations.

Compliance:

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with food industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a bakery or food production environment is plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of dough preparation, frying, and glazing techniques is also a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and portioning ingredients.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and squat to pick up heavy items.
  • Lift and carry heavy bags of flour, sugar, and other ingredients (at least 50 lbs).
  • Perform repetitive tasks, such as shaping and glazing donuts.
