Contract Medical Provider MD PA NP
Houston County Detention Center Perry, Georgia
Flexible Schedule Approximately 4 Hours Weekly

Southern Health Partners is seeking a licensed Medical Provider (MD, DO, PA, or NP) to provide healthcare services at the Houston County Detention Center. This independent contractor opportunity offers a flexible schedule with approximately four on-site hours per week, making it ideal for providers seeking supplemental income while making a meaningful impact on an underserved patient population.
Join an experienced correctional healthcare team and provide essential medical care in a structured, professional environment where your clinical expertise is valued and supported.
Position Responsibilities
Conduct weekly on-site patient visits
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
Prescribe medications and review ongoing treatment plans
Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure continuity and quality of care
Provide evidence-based medical care while maintaining accurate clinical documentation
Support the healthcare team through consultation and clinical oversight as needed
Qualifications
Current Georgia license as an MD, DO, Physician Assistant (PA), or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
DEA registration, if applicable
Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or Correctional Healthcare experience preferred
Ability to obtain and maintain facility security clearance
PA and NP candidates must maintain an active collaborating physician relationship as required by Georgia law
Applicants requiring a collaborating physician must already have, or be able to secure, a collaborating physician willing to enter into a collaborative agreement for this location
Collaborating physicians must meet all Georgia regulatory requirements, including practicing within the required geographic distance of the facility (currently within a 50-mile radius)
