Position Summary
The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for performing structural analysis, design, inspections, restoration engineering, and construction administration for a variety of building projects. This role independently manages projects while supporting clients, contractors, and project teams throughout all phases of project delivery.
The ideal candidate is experienced in existing building evaluations, restoration projects, milestone inspections, and structural design, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Technical Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Florida Building Code (FBC), ASCE, ACI, and AISC standards
Experience using structural analysis and design software including RISA, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, ADAPT, and Revit
Familiarity with MasterFormat specification writing
Strong technical writing, communication, and reporting skills
Experience preparing structural calculations and construction documents
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design for new and existing building projects
Conduct structural assessments, condition surveys, and building evaluations
Participate in Phase 1 and Phase 2 Milestone Inspections
Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
Develop structural repair and restoration recommendations
Support building restoration and rehabilitation projects
Perform construction administration activities, including:
Conduct forensic investigations related to structural failures, water intrusion, and construction defects
Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, and consultants
Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and schedule commitments
Mentor junior engineers and engineering interns as needed

Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required
7+ years of structural engineering experience focused on building structures
2–4 years of building restoration and/or forensic engineering experience
Experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 Milestone Inspections preferred
Experience working on existing building rehabilitation and repair projects
