Overview

BlueWater Federal is looking for a Technical Writer to support Dept of the Navy at the Pentagon


Responsibilities
  • Formalize, document, update and revise training manuals and materials, standard operating procedures (SOP), service level agreements (SLA), white papers, Risk Management Framework (RMF) related security artifacts/documentation and all governance/policy relating to systems and/or applications development.
  • Responsible for the overall tracking of project status' to include routine meetings with application developers or system administrators, documenting the status of projects and tasks for the government lead and ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Responsible for updating Change Request (CR) records on the SharePoint CR site during and after Change Control Boards (CCBs).
  • Responsible for taking notes during meetings held by the Systems Branch including meetings with customers and providing meeting notes to the Systems Branch Head.
  • Responsible for providing the Systems Branch Head with content from the Systems Branch team for the Weekly Activity Report (WAR), by COB Friday.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance
  • 3+ years of experience collecting and documenting system requirements and capabilities; experience writing, updating and revising training manuals, SOPs, SLAs, RMF security artifacts and governance documents that adhere to DoD standards.
  • 2+ years of experience serving as a liaison between technical staff and high-ranking Government officials.
  • 2+ years of experience creating, modifying and uploading content into a SharePoint environment. Adobe Acrobat Pro; Visio / Lucidchart for diagrams; Jira / ServiceNow; Version control/document repositories (e.g., Git, Confluence).
