Overview
QBE, LLC is seeking a Technical Writer / Editor - Policy/SOP/Artifact Production to develop, edit, and maintain cybersecurity documentation supporting NIH/OD-OIT.
This position is primarily remote but will require some TDY.
Responsibilities
• Develop and edit cybersecurity policies, procedures, standards, plans, and standard operating procedures.
• Produce clear technical documentation for cybersecurity processes and systems.
• Work with subject-matter experts to translate technical concepts into accurate written materials.
• Review documents for grammar, consistency, clarity, formatting, and compliance with established templates.
• Maintain document version control and revision histories.
• Develop templates and documentation standards.
• Support production of RMF, security operations, engineering, training, and governance artifacts.
• Ensure terminology and references are used consistently across documents.
• Coordinate document reviews, comments, adjudication, and approval workflows.
• Ensure deliverables meet customer quality and formatting requirements.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, information systems, business, communications, or a related field, or an additional two or more years of relevant experience in place of the degree requirement.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience aligned to the responsibilities of this position.
• Demonstrated ability to develop technical policies, SOPs, reports, or similar documentation.
• Strong written English, editing, proofreading, and document-organization skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical subject-matter experts.
• Experience with standard office productivity and document-management tools.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required federal background investigation, Public Trust determination, or security clearance associated with the position.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing cybersecurity documentation for federal agencies.
• Familiarity with NIST cybersecurity terminology and RMF documentation.
• Experience with document version control, knowledge repositories, or collaboration platforms.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.
• Ability to communicate effectively through virtual and in-person meetings.
• Ability to perform duties in an office, remote, or hybrid environment based on program requirements.
