Job description

Overview

As a Solid Waste Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc (CEC) in our Houston, TX office you'll work on civil and environmental engineering projects primarily associated with solid waste facilities. These projects will involve completing engineering tasks such as airspace, excavation, and fill volume calculations, preparation, review and compilation of technical reports, stormwater management system design, and landfill grading, leachate and landfill gas collection system design. You will also assist with some amount of field work - Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) - landfill cell and cap construction and environmental monitoring of landfill facilities. Interacting with CEC office and field staff, clients and contractors.  Your effort will be part of the overall completion of landfill design, construction and certification projects.  Your time will be split between the office and field. 

Applicants must be legally authorized to work for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • 0-2 years' professional engineering experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and through writing
  • Ability to take direction and complete assigned tasks
  • Ambition with a desire to learn and apply new skills
  • E.I.T. or FE certification
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, HEC-RAS or other computer modeling software
