Job description

We are  seeking an experienced environmental services professional to serve as an Account Developer. This role manages and grows an existing regional client base while developing new opportunities with prospective customers. The Account Developer combines RCRA/DOT regulatory knowledge, waste and by-product solutions expertise, consultative selling, and strong relationship management to deliver practical solutions that support client satisfaction, compliance, safety, sustainability, and long-term business value.
Key Responsibilities
·    Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and build trusted relationships with decision-makers, EHS&S leaders, regional leaders, site representatives, and operational stakeholders.
·    Manage and grow an existing client base by identifying share-of-wallet opportunities, deeper account penetration, and new service needs across disposal, recycling, reuse, transportation, and environmental services.
·    Conduct regular client meetings to understand operational needs, strengthen partnerships, and translate client challenges into practical waste and by-product management solutions.
·    Apply market knowledge of TSDFs, recycling/reuse outlets, transportation providers, supplier capabilities, technologies, cost structures, capacity constraints, and emerging solutions.
·    Maintain working knowledge of RCRA, USDOT Hazardous Materials regulations, and related requirements; partner with technical resources to ensure solutions are compliant, practical, safe, and aligned with company standards and Goal Zero.
·    Collaborate with Technical Service Representatives, Environmental Managers, operations, suppliers, and internal support teams to develop, price, communicate, and implement client solutions.
·    Support inter-company referrals and identify strategic supplier or service-provider partnerships that strengthen the company’s market position and client offering.
·    Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, co-workers, suppliers, and support teams while contributing to a team-oriented culture built on integrity, accountability, service, and shared success.
Required Qualifications
·    Environmental or waste industry experience in account management, business development, sales, or client relationship management.
·    Working knowledge of disposal, recycling, reuse, waste transportation, TSDFs, and environmental services markets.
·    Working knowledge of RCRA, USDOT Hazardous Materials regulations, and related environmental compliance requirements.
·    Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and balance client needs with business objectives.
·    Strong communication and presentation skills with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
·    Self-driven, organized, commercially minded, technically credible, and able to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
·    Team-player mentality with integrity, professionalism, accountability, and willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
·    Ability to work effectively at multiple levels within client and supplier organizations, from site representatives to senior decision-makers.
·    Strong understanding of disposal, reclamation, recycling, and reuse opportunities and how they create value for clients.
·    Experience leveraging technical, operational, supplier, and support resources to develop client-centered solutions.
