About This Role

SpartanX is seeking an experienced Solar Service Technician to support residential solar service operations across active markets.

This role is ideal for a licensed solar electrician or service technician who takes pride in troubleshooting, problem-solving, operational efficiency, and customer experience. Candidates must be comfortable diagnosing electrical and system performance issues, completing repairs safely and efficiently, and ensuring homeowners receive professional service throughout the process.

This is a hands-on field role supporting solar service, troubleshooting, diagnostics, commissioning, repair work, and operational quality control.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot and repair residential solar PV systems
  • Diagnose inverter faults, production issues, monitoring failures, and electrical deficiencies
  • Perform service upgrades, equipment replacements, and warranty-related repairs
  • Test and verify system functionality, monitoring connectivity, and production restoration
  • Interpret electrical drawings, site plans, and system schematics
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with NEC and local code requirements
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, photos, and completion notes
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding findings, repairs, and expectations
  • Coordinate with service management and operations teams to resolve issues efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

What We're Looking For

  • Active electrical license required
  • Previous residential solar service experience required
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Strong understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, monitoring platforms, and electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage service appointments efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Comfortable working on rooftops, ladders, and in outdoor environments
  • Professional communication and customer interaction skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment safely throughout the workday

Preferred Qualifications

  • NABCEP certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience with battery storage systems
  • Experience performing warranty and post-install service work
