Job Location: Lexington, SC - out-of-state/overnight travel required

Travel: up to 50-70% to solar sites

Supplemental Pay:

The Solar Maintenance Technician is a team member for the Array Optimization Team (AOT), overseeing onsite operations to ensure execution of assigned tasks. This role is responsible for safety, optimizing task efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and quality.

This role will encompass performing the preventative and corrective maintenance on the solar modules, strings, trackers, and inverters.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate team members to achieve their full potential and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Onboard and train new crew members in safety protocols, technical procedures, software usage, and documentation practices.
  • Provide clear guidance and leadership for daily onsite tasks, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Uphold high standards of work documentation and provide thorough summaries to maintain clear communication and project tracking.
  • Monitor parts inventory levels and proactively communicate with management regarding supply needs.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained, serviced, and replaced as necessary to support operational efficiency.


Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience working in solar PV preferred
  • Reinforce and uphold company's safety culture to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate hazards associated with solar array systems.
  • Interpret site-specific electrical characteristics from technical drawings.
  • Ability to determine voltage and current levels of site DC circuits both from drawings and on-site observations.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of DC circuits to resolve issues efficiently.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience troubleshooting various single axis tracking systems.
  • Proficiently navigate Microsoft Office Suite with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Experience accurately document work activities and maintenance tasks using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Manage RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) logistics to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Preferred experience with Utilize small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) to identify and address array-level issues effectively.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Ability to travel up to 50-70% to various solar sites.
  • Columbia, SC, Lexington, SC and/or Biscoe, NC and other surrounding states
  • Work is to be performed outdoors at various job sites.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures. PPE personal protective equipment is required.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
