Job description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take an active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Monitor applications and work with operations teams, clients, customers, and stakeholders to resolve production support issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software/Application Developer, Java Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software/Application Developer, Java Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: building robust, high- performance applications using object-oriented Java 8+ programming including collections, multithreading, reflections, design patterns, and Lambda expressions; developing enterprise-level applications using J2EE components including Servlets, JSP, and EJB; designing and implementing scalable RESTful microservices architecture by leveraging Spring Framework and Spring Boot for rapid development and deployment; RDBMS using SQL queries; developing UI applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; GIT version control; unit testing using Junit. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: Agile SDLC, including all Agile ceremonies; database integration using Hibernate ORM; CICD experience using Jenkins to automate build, test, and deployment processes; Splunk search and monitoring; using XML for data interchange, configuration, and integration purposes; deploying and managing web applications on the Apache Tomcat server; integrating SOAP-based web services with web applications; managing project dependencies with Maven; JSON for data interchange between front-end and back-end systems; Cucumber Behavior-Driven Development. Experience and skills may be gained through internships.
