Job Title: Principal Controls Specialist - Modeling and Simulation

Working Pattern: Full-time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN or West Lafayette, IN (Hybrid schedule/ 3 days onsite)

As a Principal Controls Specialist - Modeling and Simulation, you will be part of a multidiscipline team responsible for the development, testing and continuous integration of the hardware and software test environment used in the development and qualification of electronic engine control software and hardware-in-the-loop investigations.

You will ensure that all delivered test and simulation products meet program requirements. You will coordinate with engine control project teams, external customers, and hardware and software vendors supporting simulation test assets. You will be responsible for the hardware/software builds, tool, and process used for executing on the simulation environment.

You will be involved at all stages of a project lifecycle from concept development, integrated/component testing through final production release and maintenance.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Planning, designing and developing software solutions of real-time simulation test platforms
  • Integration, testing and troubleshooting of software/hardware and software/software designs
  • Technical management and improvement of the automated build and execution tool and process used for executing batched test programs running on the simulation environment
  • Mentor engineers to improve technical capability and project performance. Enable technical excellence of engineering deliverables for projects.
  • Technical management and project leadership of a team of simulation engineers coordinating technical tasks, commitments, deliveries and communications with an engineering program.
  • Presentation of technical data to senior engineers, management, and customers

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of software simulation experience -OR-
  • Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in software simulation engineering (development or testing) -OR-
  • JD/PhD
  • Must be a US Citizen. Ability to obtain/maintain US DOD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Modelling, Simulation, and Control System experience
  • Strong understanding of software configuration management and software architecture
  • Knowledge of electronics (sensors, actuators, and processors)
  • Strong software development skills in C/C++, Python, CMake, Bash, Simulink, Continuous Integration/Automation (e.g. Jenkins), UNIX shell
  • Hardware (electronics/circuits) troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with MIL-STD-3022.
  • Knowledge in software design patterns and software testing framework
  • Familiarity with Embedded Systems Architecture and Design
  • Understanding of UNIX, Windows OS, and build environments
  • Certified Modeling & Simulation Professional certification.
