Senior Software Engineer
Globus Medical is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join the Cranial R&D team responsible for developing next-generation image-guided surgery, navigation, robotics, and planning technologies for neurosurgical applications. This individual will play a key role in the architecture, design, implementation, and verification of software supporting the Excelsius Cranial platform and future cranial navigation solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with systems engineering, clinical, regulatory, quality, product management, and surgeon partners to deliver innovative software solutions that improve surgical accuracy, workflow efficiency, and patient outcomes. This role requires strong technical leadership, a deep understanding of software development best practices, and the ability to thrive in a highly regulated medical device environment.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Designing and developing prototypes, proofs of concept, and production-grade software modules or components for medical devices
Ensures high performance, reliability, and scalability of software solutions in clinical environments
Demonstrates a strong commitment to software craftsmanship, including test-driven development and clean coding practices
Lead technical design discussions, design reviews, testing strategies, documentation, and contribute to system architecture decisions
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
Stays current with advancements in medical robotics, software engineering, and regulatory standards through continuous learning
Deploying, maintaining and updating full stack aspects of software application for medical devices on various platforms
Testing, debugging and troubleshooting software applications in a cadaveric and laboratory settings
Contributing to and assisting with functional testing in cadaveric settings.
Managing all aspects of assigned tasks to ensure timely completion while remaining in full compliance with Globus software development environment (version control, toolchain, documentation tools) and quality system.
Executing software design verification procedures and assisting validation activities to ensure designs meet requirements.
Periodically attend surgical cases to understand context and end user requirements.
Adhering to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensure Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
Representing the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus.

To be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of professional programming experience or a Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience
Strong proficiency in object-oriented C++ (C++17 or newer) with strong Qt/QML development skills
Experience building reusable software tools, libraries, and components for medical or robotic applications
Familiarity with medical device development, including regulatory and safety considerations, is highly desirable
Proficient with standard software development environments (VisualStudio, VisualStudio Code) and GIT.
Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, and E-mail.
Proactive and autonomous mindset supported by problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in small or large teams.
Well organized, detail oriented and team player capable of working in a deadline dictated environment.
Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills.
On-site job position.
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time and attend cadaver labs and surgeries in the US.
