Job description

Bracebridge Capital seeks a Junior Support Engineer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, for our Application Development group.

The Junior Support Engineer will report to the Application Development Manager and will become the expert on all aspects of our fixed income trading and research application suite.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support & Triage
    • Monitor and manage incoming support requests across systems
    • Triage issues based on priority, impact, and business needs
    • Document issues, analysis, and resolution steps
  • Data Analysis & Querying (PostgreSQL)
    • Write complex SQL queries to investigate and resolve issues
    • Analyze datasets to identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and gaps
    • Perform data validation, correction, and reconciliation across systems
  • Application Support & Debugging (C#)
    • Read and understand C# code to troubleshoot application issues
    • Assist in debugging backend services and data pipelines
    • Partner with engineers to identify root causes and implement fixes
  • Technical Contribution
    • Gradually contribute to bug fixes and small enhancements in C#
    • Participate in code reviews and learn engineering best practices
    • Build familiarity with system capabilities and data flows
    • Take ownership of smaller technical tasks over time
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with engineering and business teams
    • Communicate findings and status updates effectively
    • Develop strong understanding of application tools and workflows
  • Process & Continuous Improvement
    • Identify patterns and propose improvements to reduce support volume

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline
  • 0-3 years of experience in a support, data, or junior engineering role
  • Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL preferred) - ability to write complex queries and debug data issues
  • Working knowledge of C# and object-oriented programming concepts
  • Understanding of relational databases and data modeling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work with large datasets and identify inconsistencies
  • Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate
  • Strong interest in growing into a software engineering role
  • Experience with support/ticketing tools (Asana, Jira, etc.) and familiarity with debugging tools, logs, or APIs, a plus
  • Exposure to distributed systems or backend services, preferred

Current anticipated annual base salary range: $80,000 - $100,000

Base salary within the range will be determined by various factors including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills and qualifications
